Friends,
This is the quiet time of the year in Granada. Fewer tourists and everyone rests up for the summer season. Many expats leave for the month to avoid the humid, still days preceding the coming rainy season.
We are not sure if the rainy season has already started since the forecast is for four straight days of misty rain. Usually the season starts with a deluge of rain.
Hasta pronto! See you soon!

Friends,
The annual Granada International Poet Festival just finished. Many tents had been set up to sell books and other items, poet readings were given all over the city and the streets were full of locals, tourists and expats. This is an event you would have really enjoyed since they say the soul of a Nica is the soul of a poet.
The weather has been warm but the nights remain cool. Quite a few days we still see rain which is very unusual here during the dry season (November through May).
Hasta pronto! See you soon!

 Friends,
It is now December and we are still getting some rainstorms. So much for rainy season being over. I have a tin roof on my home and there is something soothing about the sound of rain on a tin roof.
Real estate activity in Granada remains good and now more interest is appearing for coastal properties in Boquita and surrounding areas. 2012 could be a very good year. Rentals are still solid and high season is just beginning.
Life is good in Nicaragua!

Friends,
It is now October, the month with the most rain though it is pleasantly cooler. It is also the slowest month for real estate activity though remains higher than previous years.
Some of the businesses close down this month to rest for the high tourist season. This month we will write about various things happening in Granada and some good information to have.
I’m currently on vacation hitting a few places in Europe and my sister, Terry, just returned from Afghanistan. I will be back in early November, well rested and ready for the expected increase in real estate activity.

Friends,It is the slow season now yet real estate activity remains higher than previous years. Activity is beginning to include coastal properties.
This month we will write about community activities in Granada. The expat community continues to grow and with the growth comes more group activities.
We also will cover a unique real estate opportunity which you may find interesting. This is a timely project because Granada is running out of rental units within easy walking distance of Calle Calzada and the Central Park.

Friends,It is a beautiful rainy season this year though warmer than usual. No torrential storms, just steady cooling rains.
Granada continues to see steady real estate activity though the rest of Nicaragua remains sluggish.
This month we will write about the community helping Nicaragua. Statistically Nicaragua is the second poorest country in the Americas but the reality is it is not so poor as having no money, a major difference. Unlike many other poor countries, Nicaragua is rich in resources and people. It just needs better methods to utilize those resources and educate the people.
